Reclaim Your Body: Day 11
In the Mountains, Day 8
Today was another challenge of the soul. I had not planned on it but gave myself a stretch goal of hiking to a town called Tatopani, roughly 30 miles away from Marpha where I spent last night.
My first goal was to get to Ghasa, which was 18.5 miles. It took me 5 1/2 hours and having left Marpha at 7:45am, placed me in Ghasa early enough to push on.
I won’t lie and say that stopping there for the night didn’t cross my mind…but then again, I want to get to Pokhara as quickly as possible.
The walk today was somewhat dreary as there was cloud cover and the path consisted of dirt and dust much of the way. The terrain was what Nepalis’ refer to as”Nepalese flat” which basically means lots of rolling hills but generally a flat elevation average.
Tonight, I lathered myself in tiger balm in preparation for what will be a grueling day tomorrow, including a 7,000 foot climb. My quads are still hurting from the summit descent.
The circuit is almost complete! 130 miles in total.
Hoping for a good nights sleep for more fun tomorrow!
